In a Crisis — What Every Host, Reader & Facilitator Must Do
For Crystal Heart® Hosts, Readers & Facilitators — this guidance explains how to respond when safeguarding concerns arise.
If a caller, client, or attendee shows signs of crisis:
- Stop the reading/session immediately — do not continue with spiritual content.
- Signpost them to the relevant helpline above — give them the number, don't just say "get help".
- Stay calm and present — listen without judgment, don't panic.
- Do not attempt to provide crisis counselling yourself unless you hold a recognised qualification to do so.
- If there is an immediate risk to life or serious harm, contact the emergency services in the person's location: 999 (UK), 911 (US), 000 (Australia).
After a crisis incident
Email safeguarding@crystalheartradio.com to report a safeguarding concern or incident. Please do not include unnecessary personal or identifying information.
Crystal Heart Practitioner Safeguarding Standards
These standards set out the safeguarding approach Crystal Heart expects practitioners using our platform to follow. They are intended to support safe practice and do not replace any practitioner's own legal, professional or regulatory responsibilities.
They apply to everyone providing services or facilitating activities through the Crystal Heart® platform, regardless of their professional background or qualification.
As a condition of using the Crystal Heart® platform, practitioners are required to follow these safeguarding standards:
- Never present predictions about death, serious illness, infidelity, pregnancy, harm to children, or other serious events as facts or certainties.
- Never diagnose a medical or mental health condition.
- Never use fear-based messaging ("curses", "dark forces", "negative energy").
- Never tell a person they are cursed, possessed, spiritually attacked, or in danger and therefore need to purchase a paid cleansing, clearing, or other service.
- Stop the session and signpost to crisis support immediately if a client mentions self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
- Never use a person's distress, vulnerability or fear to pressure them into purchasing additional services.
Practitioners who hold a professional qualification (therapist, coach, counsellor, etc.) must additionally:
- Stay within the scope of their own training and qualification.
- Not diagnose unless they are clinically qualified to do so.
- Follow their own professional body's safeguarding protocols.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
